Little Anchor Child Care Center (LACC)
Who We Are
Little Anchor Child Care (LACC) is a nonprofit organization, NAEYC accredited, providing a quality on-site child care program at the Sand Point campus of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The facilities which house Little Anchor Child Care Center are managed by NOAA's Western Regional Center (WRC) Facilities and Logistics Branch.
Philosophy and Anti-Bias Statement
We believe that children learn best when they are loved, respected and appeciated and we value each child as an important and capable individual. We believe that diversity enriches our culturral and social experiences and that the differences between children are to be anticipated and embraced.
Enrollment
The membership of LACC includes Federal and non-Federal employees at Sand Point, off-site Federal employees, and the community at large. Due to the success of our child care program, the list of those desiring to enroll their children usually exceeds the center's capacity and priority enrollment is given to on-site Federal employees.
Center Operation
The Little Anchor Child Care Center is licensed to care for 54 children, ranging in age from six weeks through preschool. Full-time and part-time care options are available to LACC members. The Center is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and is closed on all federal holidays.
