The Steps to Processing Non-Federal Security Packages

The Sponsor/COR submits:

  2. Fingerprint card (FD-258) / unless the subject is able to go to the NOAA Pass & ID Offices located in Seattle or Silver Spring
  3. OF306 (Revised 2011)
  4. Resume
  5. CD591

For those who will be here for 29 days or less

  1. Our office receives the above complete security package request.
  2. We will run the prints. If there are no issues, an email will be sent to the sponsor.  If there are issues, the sponsor will receive a phone call from a Security Specialist.
  3. The Sponsor is able to bring the Contractor onboard (able to start) once the print results are cleared for those individuals who are here for less than 29 days.

For those who will be here for 30 – 179 days

  1. The Sponsor is able to bring the Contractor onboard (able to start) once the once they received an email that the SAC has been submitted.

For those who will be here for 180 days or more

  1. The subject will receive an email invite to conduct their eQIP. The sponsor is Cc on the invite.
  2. The Subject is given two weeks to complete the eQIP.
  3. The eQIP is reviewed, if no issues – the eQIP is released to OPM, if there are issues, the eQIP is rejected back to the Subject.
  4. When the eQIP is released to OPM, the Sponsor/COR is notified by email and is able to bring the Contractor onboard (able to start).

We will attach a CD591 to the email so the Sponsor/Trusted Agent can go into CVS and the Subject is able to obtain a CAC. Please look at the TASS CD-591 Training PDF, slides 5,6,7.
